Is MND Hereditary?

About 5-10% of MND cases are considered familial, meaning they run in families due to specific genetic mutations.

The majority of MND cases, however, occur spontaneously without a clear family history of the disease.

If there is a known family history of MND, genetic testing and counseling may be recommended.
