Is MND Terminal?

Yes, motor neurone disease (MND) is considered a terminal condition.

As the disease progresses, the motor neurones responsible for muscle control degenerate, leading to increasing muscle weakness, paralysis, and difficulties in breathing and swallowing.

There is currently no cure for MND, and treatment aims to manage symptoms and enhance the patient’s quality of life.
